'ULFA talks may wind up by 2018'

NEW DELHI, Dec 15: Peace talk with pro-talk faction of Ulfa may come to a conclusion by 2018. Giving this indication, senior Assam police official Pallab Bhattacharya said that the much hyped peace talk is moving towards the right direction.
An eight-member delegation of pro-talk faction of ULFA led by Anup Chetia and Aurobindo Rajkhowa held an important meeting with senior officials from Central Government and representatives of Dispur. ULFA peace interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma was also present in the meeting. “The peace talk is going towards the right direction. And the process will speed up after the draft NRC publication,” said Bhattacharya. Interestingly, ga peace accord was also discussed in the meeting. Friday’s meetings assume significance as it took place after a long time.
