What makes Gogoi skip UCs in white paper? Questions Ajmal

By our Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Feb 14: Reacting to the White Paper published by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi yesterday, AIUDF president and Dhubri MP Badruddin Ajmal today said that the white paper would give nothing other than self-appeasement to Gogoi. With such a white paper, Gogoi is just fooling the people of the State, he said.

“The white paper is bereft of anything about the spending of the funds which Dispur did receive from the Centre during the former NDA and UPA and the present NDA regimes. Thus is nothing but fooling the people of the State,” Ajmal said, and added: “There are allegations that Dispur hasn’t submitted utilization certificates of crores of rupees to the Centre. However, in his white paper, the Chief Minister skillfully avoided the issue of utilization certificates. Gogoi should have mentioned what amount of Central funds he, as the Union Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies for a greater period during the PV rasimha Rao regime from 1991-96, could fetch to the State. The white paper published by the Chief Minister is a one-sided and incomplete document.”
