Wife appeals for release

Dimoria, Nov 11: Anup Chetia's wife Monika Gohain has appealed to the government not to keep the ULFA leader in custody and allow him to join the mainstream.  "He has been in jail for 18 years. He had to overcome a lot of legal hassles for the extradition. He should not be kept in custody now. He should be allowed to join the mainstream and lead a normal life," Monica, who rushed to Guwahati from Dibrugarh on getting the news, told jourlists at Jorabat.

Thanking Dhaka for releasing her husband, Monica hoped that the development will help resolve the ULFA issue faster.

She also said that she last communicated with her husband eighteen years back.
