According to reports, poachers today killed the rhino between Borghup and Bahubil forest camps under Burapahar range office inside the tiol Park. The location is around 150 metres from the Borghup forest camp.

The poachers maged to flee with horn.

"Forest guards found bullet injuries in the dehorned body of a male rhino inside the park on Tuesday morning, " a top official of KNP said.

Last year, at least 36 rhinos were poached in Kaziranga.

On other hand, Assam forest minister Atuwa Munda today sought to put the ball in the Centre’s court. “We had asked for Centre’s help, but haven’t got any so far. We will try to protect the rhinos on our own now,” he said.
