4 additional Gazetted Holidays of Assam government in 2023

GUWAHATI: There will be four more Gazetted Holidays of the state government in 2023 in comparison with the ongoing year.

However, the number of half-holidays and restricted holidays of the state government will remain the same next year. Official sources said that the decision has been taken into consideration days of significance of all important communities.

The number of Gazetted Holidays in 2022 is 34 and the Cabinet has approved 38 Gazetted Holidays for 2023. Each Government employee will be able avail of two days of restricted holiday during the year, apart from two half-holidays.

However, the General Administration Department (GAD) has been empowered to declare two additional days as holidays with the approval of the Chief Minister of Assam.
