GUWAHATI: On the occasion of the 77th Independence Day celebrations, eight police officials from Assam will receive the Police Medal for Gallantry (PMG) and 13 police personnel will be honored with the Police Medal (PM) for Meritorious Service on August 15.
The eight police personnel who will receive the PMG are Deputy Superintendent Prakash Medhi; Sub-Inspector (SI) Latuk Das; Sub-Inspector (SI) Ritujyoti Nath; Additional Superintendent of Police Prakash Sonowal; Sub-Inspector (SI) Mwblik Brahma; Constable Semson Taro; Constable Joy Kiri Teron; and Constable Nabajyoti Roy.
The 13 police personnel to be honoured with the Police Medal (PM) for Meritorious Service are Rajen Singh, Superintendent of Police, Baksa; Satish Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mandakata; Raj Kumar Singh, Sub-Inspector (M), Dakurbhita; Manoranjan Kakoti, ASI/CLK, Dakurbhita; Deben Chandra Borah, Havildar, Abhayapuri; Rajani Kanta Barman, Havildar, Abhayapuri; Rupjyoti Dutta, Inspector (UB), Baksa; Dipen Pator, Inspector (UB), Dima Hasao; Kamaleswar Pandey, Sub-Inspector (UB), Guwahati; H Bishow Chandra Singha, ASI (Tech), Guwahati; Indra Das, Constable (UB), Lakhimpur DEF; Diganta Baglari, Constable (UB), Sivsagar DEF; and Nirala Bala Kachari, Constable (UB), Bongaigaon.
The names of the Assam Police personnel who will receive the Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in a Crisis Situation and the Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Outstanding Service were also announced today. The Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in a Crisis Situation will be conferred posthumously on Sub-Inspector (UB) Dijen Borah, Morigaon DEF.
The Chief Minister’s Special Service Medal in a Crisis Situation will be conferred on 17 police officers and personnel. They are – Jitmol Doley, retired IPS, re-engaged as Inspector General of Police (NER), Tinsukia; Partha Sarathi Mahanta, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administation), Assam; Kangkan Jyoti Saikia, Deputy Inspector General of Police (SR), Silchar, Cachar; Pushpraj Singh, Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar; Gurav Abhujit Dilip, Superintendent of Police, Tinsukia; Numal Mahatta, Superintendent of Police, Cachar; Kalyan Kr. Pathak, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Kamrup; John Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (Security), Karbi Anglong; Nabanita Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Kokrajhar; Bivash Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Tinsukia; Inspector (UB) Manoj Narzary, Kokrajhar DEF; Inspector (UB) Nabajit Das Baghri, Kokrajhar DEF; UBC Biju Kumar Nath, Kokrajhar DEF; ABC Bapan Roy, Kokrajhar DEF; ABC Saffik Ahmed, Tinsukia DEF; FM Banjit Dutta, F&ES, Assam (HQ), Panbazar, Guwahati; and ER Jehirul Islam, Barpeta, F&ES.
The Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Outstanding Service will be conferred on 19 Assam Police personnel. They are AYV Krishna, the then ADGP (CID), Assam now on Central Deputation; Brigadier (retired) Charandeep Singh, Special DIG Training, LBP Academy, Dergaon; Partha Protim Das, Superintendent of Police, Karimganj; Subhrajyoti Bora, Superintendent of Police, Sivasagar; Rozy Rani Sarmah, Superintendent of Police, CID (Zonal-II), Assam; Dr Kalyan Kr. Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Cachar; Rupom Bordoloi, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Hojai; Samiran Baishya, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime), Morigaon; Rumir Timungpi, Additional Superintendent of Police (T&AP-I), Assam, Guwahati; Pratap Das, Additional Superintendent of Police (HQ), Karimganj; Badrul Islam, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Directorate of V&AC, Assam; Rafiqul Hassan Choudhury, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Directorate of V&AC, Assam; Inspector (UB) Manuj Kumar Das, Directorate of V&AC, Assam; WSI (UB) M. These police personnel will be honoured on August 15.
