They were arrested from different parts of Assam. Five of them were arrested in the Karimganj district, one in the Cachar district and two in the Kamrup district.
8 Bangladeshis deported via Sutarkandi border in Karimganj district

SILCHAR: Eight Bangladeshi infiltrators were pushed back on Saturday to their country via the Sutarkandi international border in the Karimganj district.

They were arrested from different parts of Assam. Five of them were arrested in the Karimganj district, one in the Cachar district and two in the Kamrup district. Out of these eight infiltrators, six were locked up in the Silchar Central Jail after they were caught while travelling to India without proper documents. The other two were in jail in the Kamrup district.

All of them were handed over to the Bangladeshi authority after all formalities were carried out. It is to be noted that the decision to deport the illegal immigrants was taken after diplomatic parleys between two neighbouring countries. The Bangladeshi nationals have been identified as Md Lal Mia alias Mohammad Lal Mia Kazi, Lal Mia alias Lalan Mia, Mohir Uddin, Mohammad Abdul Motin, Farid Alom alias Akash, Atabur Rahman, Faima Begum alias Faima and Md Rahim Mia alias Firdaus.
