BONGAIGAON: This is the story of a large-hearted family and a laborious boy. Subal Ray, an orphan and a brilliant boy from Tulungia area of Bongaigaon found meaning in life today.

Subal Ray passed the HSLC examination with 85 per cent marks and letters marks in five subjects. Six years ago he was homeless and moved about here and there for food. While roaming around mindlessly, Subal arrived in Tulungia. There is a hotel named Pancharatna Hotel in Tulungiya point whose owner is Ratin Ray. Subal sought a job from Ratin Ray for his survival and Ratin kept him as a labour to wash dishes of the hotel. But one day, Ratin Ray and his wife Purnima Ray noticed that the boy was interested to study. They admitted Subal in a school and gave him all possible facility to study. Today Subal has made them proud.

Ratan and Purnima have no child. Elated at Subal's good result, Purnima said that they would provide all possible opportunity to Subal for further studies. "We considered Subal as our child. He studied hard and today he achieved success by dint of his hard work and efforts," she said.
