Advocate General resigns

Guwahati, Nov 16: Advocate General of Assam Chinmoy Choudhury on Thursday resigned from the post, citing “non- conducive atmosphere” for discharge of his duties as the reason. Choudhury sent his resigtion letter to the Law Secretary of Assam Government expressing dissatisfaction and said the sanctity of his post was not maintained by the authorities concerned. Choudhury was bypassed by the government while taking many decisions in legal matters. When contacted by The Sentinel on Thursday evening, Choudhury confirmed the development.
