AJP President Lurinjyoti Gogoi to contest from Duliajan and Naharkotia

GUWAHATI: The president of Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Lurinjyoti Gogoi will contest the ensuing Assembly elections from two constituencies — Duliajan and Naharkotia.

As per the first list of 18 candidates of the AJP announced on March 5 Lurinjyoti is fighting the polls from Duliajan. The second list of 50 candidates announced on Sunday fielded Lurinjyoti also from Naharkotia.

The second list has named the following candidates along with the constituencies:

AJP vice president Adip Kumar Phukan told reporters on Sunday that his party, Raijor Dal (RD) and the Autonomous State Demand Committee (ASDC) will contest the elections as a united regional force to defeat the BJP.
