Anshu scales Mt Everest 4th time, readies for fifth

Guwahati, May 16: Anshu Jamsenpa, the renowned mountaineer from Aruchal Pradesh who origilly hails from Gohpur in Biswath district of Assam, conquered Mount Everest for the fourth time on Tuesday morning at 9am. If all goes well, she will scale the world’s highest peak within this month again to accomplish the feat five times overall.  

The mother of two teege children, Anshu had earlier scaled Mount Everest twice in the month of May in 2011, and then for the third time on May 18, 2013. Anshu’s double ascent expedition this year was flagged off by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on April 2, 2017 from Guwahati.

Addressing mediapersons here in Guwahati, Anshu Jamsenpa’s PR mager nda Kirati Dewan said, “Anshu had started the summit expedition after 38 days of acclimatization at Everest Base Camp to Camp 1, 2, 3 and Camp 4 from April 4 to May 12 this year. On May 13, she started at 1.45 am for the fil summit and reached on top of Mount Everest at 9 am today to unfurl the Indian tiol flag with pride. The good news is that she is absolutely well and fine and shall attempt the double ascent”

Officials at Everest Base Camp and Kathmandu spoke over satellite phone to Anshu at Mount Everest after she unfurled the Tricolour and clicked testimonial photos. Her health is stated to be perfectly fine and she was descending to the base camp.

Anshu has thanked her family, friends and supporters back home, along with the Aruchal Pradesh government, SBI, NEC, NRL, NEEPCO, TopCem and all associates for extending support to her expedition. She is motivated and energized to try the double ascent if conditions remain favorable, while her family has sought blessings and support from the people of India, her PR mager informed.
