APSC: Court allows re-examination of CCE-2013 answer sheets

GUWAHATI: The Court of the Special Judge has allowed re-examination of the answer sheets of the Combined Competitive Exams (CCE) 2013 following a prayer for the same from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to probe the cash-for-job scam in CCE-2013 and 2014, conducted by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

The SIT had submitted a prayer before the court to have the CCE-2013 answer sheets, pertaining to the candidates accused of being complicit in the cash-for-job scam, re-examined. The court consented to the prayer and allowed the answer sheets in question to be re-examined. The state government formed an SIT of the Assam Police in connection with the cash-for-job scam in CCE-2013 and 2014 conducted by the APSC. Following an instruction from Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to this effect, the Director General of Police (DGP) Assam immediately formed the SIT.

The Dibrugarh Police investigated the CCE-2013 and CCE-2014, leading to the arrest of more than 40 ACS and allied service officers, who were subsequently dismissed from their jobs.
