DIBRUGARH: A team of Forest Department officials from Dibrugarh seized around 2,200 fish, suspected to be Channa fish, at Dibrugarh Airport today. The consignment was being prepared for transportation to Delhi via an IndiGo flight when officials intervened.

According to forest officials, the exact species of the fish is yet to be confirmed. Until verification is complete, the transportation of the fish will remain restricted. However, in the meantime, the fish will be kept in the custody of their owners.

Authorities are conducting further investigations to ascertain whether the species falls under any protected or restricted category.
