Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora lays stress on PM Kisan, Fasal Bima

GUWAHATI: State Agriculture Minister Atul Bora asked the deputy commissioners and the district agriculture officers to work with a mission mode to benefit the genuine farmers in the state.

Talking to The Sentinel, Bora said, "The farmers have many benefits to get from the PM Fasal Bima Yojana and the PM Kisan. The deputy commissioners and the district agriculture officers need to implement these programmes without leaving any loopholes.

"I had a video conferencing with the deputy commissioners and the district agriculture officers on Monday evening. I reminded them of the allegations of ineligible farmers making into the list of PM Kisan beneficiaries. I asked them to prepare the lists of beneficiaries of these programmes without leaving any loopholes. The deputy commissioners should monitor the preparation of the lists.

"Under PM Bima Yojana, farmers get insurance cover of their damaged crops. I asked the deputy commissioners to ensure the maximum coverage of the genuine farmers of the state under this scheme."
