JP Nadda’s help for Ammonia Urea Complex sought

New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and apprised him on various matters pertaining to Assam.

In the course of the meeting at the official residence of Union Home Minister in the afternoon, Chief Minister Dr Sarma briefed Union Minister Shah on a gamut of matters connected with the state and on the resounding victory of NDA in the recently concluded Panchayat elections.

The Chief Minister also complimented the Union Home Minister on the considerable gains being made in eliminating Red Terror.

Shah, in turn, congratulated Dr Sarma for NDA’s sweeping victory in the Panchayat polls.

Later, taking to micro-blogging platform X , the Chief Minister wrote, “Had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Union Home Minister Shri @AmitShah ji in New Delhi today. I briefed him on various matters pertaining to Assam, including the resounding victory of NDA in the recently held Panchayat polls. On the occasion, I also complimented him on the gigantic gains being made in eliminating Red Terror.”

The Chief Minister also met Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Jagat Prakash Nadda, and sought his assistance in expediting the ongoing groundwork for the Brownfield Ammonia Urea Complex.

In a meeting held at the Union Minister’s office at Nirman Bhawan here, Chief Minister Dr Sarma urged Nadda to expedite the ongoing groundwork for the Brownfield Ammonia Urea Complex in Namrup.

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the establishment of a new Brownfield Ammonia Urea Plant in Namrup, costing Rs 10,601.40 crore. The project, proposed by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, aims to boost domestic urea production.

The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister that he would extend all possible help and support from his ministry to the Government of Assam.
