GUWAHATI: In the aftermath of Advantage Assam 2.0, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma is hopeful that more investment proposals will come to the state in the next 2-3 months.

The Chief Minister visited the exhibition that is currently underway at the Veterinary College playground at Khanapara here today. The exhibition will remain open for the public till March 1.

Talking to the media at the exhibition, the chief minister said, "The real job will begin now. Now, we have to settle tough issues like where to provide land to the investors, what incentives we need to offer them, and the like. All these are the real matters of discussion after signing MoUs. This process is the bigger task for us to accomplish."

The Chief Minister said that the startups of the state are making strides. "We've created a separate department for startups and will allocate a good amount of funds to this department in the budget. The aim is to let startups go smoothly. The Assamese youths have come forward with good concepts, and the government is ready to extend them all help. We're holding talks with South Korea for a tie-up between our startup incubation centre and theirs. If materialised, this will help our youths to scale newer heights."

When asked about the total worth of the MoUs signed during Advantage Assam 2.0, the Chief Minister said, "Around Rs 500 crore more investment proposals than what I said yesterday may pour in into the state."

At the concluding function of Advantage Assam 2.0 yesterday, the Chief Minister said that the summit concluded with the commitment of Rs 4.91 lakh crore investment into the state.

The Chief Minister appealed to the people, especially the students, to visit the exhibition. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the exhibition on February 24.
