Assam crosses 2 lakh COVID-positive cases; death cases 865

GUWAHATI: Assam on Saturday crossed 2 lakh COVID-19 positive cases. The first positive case was recorded in Karimganj on March 31. While recovery rate has reached 85 per cent, the positivity rate has come down to 2 per cent from a high of 8 to 9 per cent in the last few months.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that if the masses follow the COVID-safety protocols during the upcoming Durga puja and continue to test whenever they become symptomatic, the pandemic situation will not further deteriorate even after the festival.
