GUWAHATI: Following the recent order of the Gauhati High Court issued on June 20, 2025, the Assam Government has modified its discharge orders of 29 ACS officers (probationers) from service with effect from June 20, 2018. The Department of Personnel issued separate official notifications today regarding the dismissal of the 29 ACS officers concerned from their services.
These 29 ACS officers of the 2013 and 2014 batches had their names figured in the cash-for-job scams in the APSC (Assam State Public Service Commission).
After the order of the Gauhati High Court, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the high court had no directive to reinstate the dismissed officers in their jobs. The court had merely asked that the discharge order should not carry the stigma of the APSC scam, the chief minister added.
