GUWAHATI: With the death of one more person at Lakhipur in Goalpara district on Wednesday, the death toll in the current wave of floods in the State has risen to 10, a report from the ASDMA (Assam State Disaster Management Authority) said.

State Revenue and Disaster Management department has said that the next of kin of each of the people died in floods will be paid Rs 4 lakh from the SDRF (State Disaster Response Fund).

According to the flood bulletin, four districts – Goalpara, Nagaon, Hojai and Cachar – have been affected by this wave of floods affecting around 1,44,322 people. As many as 21 relief camps have been set up in the State.
