Assam Government Forms High-Level Committee to Revise Delegation of Financial Power Rules for Next Five Years

The Assam Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine, revise and prepare a new set of Delegation of Financial Power Rules (DFPR) for the next five years.

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has constituted a high-level committee to examine, revise and prepare a new set of Delegation of Financial Power Rules (DFPR) for the next five years. According to a notification issued by the Finance Department, the committee will function under the chairmanship of the Secretary to the Government of Assam, Finance Department.

The committee has been directed to submit its recommendations and final report by June 30, 2026.

The members of the committee are Promod Borah, AFS, Special Director, Finance (Budget) Department - Member Secretary; Binimoy Rajkhowa, AFS, Joint Director, Finance (Budget) Department - Member; Bishnu Kumar Deka, AFS, Senior Financial Adviser, Finance Department - Member; and Kokeel Krishna Mahanta, Under Secretary, Finance (Budget) Department - Member.

The notification stated that the chairperson may induct or invite other officials, personnel, or experts to assist in the exercise. The committee may also hold discussions with concerned departments and stakeholders to recommend measures for simplification and improvement of the rules.
