Assam Government issued Fresh SOP with Little Modification

The State government issued a fresh SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) with little modification on Monday.

GUWAHATI: The State government issued a fresh SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) with little modification on Monday. However, unlike earlier SOPs the latest SOP has no time stipulation. This SOP will be in force from Tuesday till further order.

Five districts – Cachar, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur and Nagaon – are still under the lens of the Health Department as both cumulative and daily COVID-19 positive cases are still high there. Without any relaxation, shops and other business establishments will remain open till '12 noon' and curfew be will from 1 pm in these five districts.

No further relaxation has been given to the Kamrup (M) district as well where sops and other business establishments operate till 1 pm and the curfew will be from 2 pm.

In eight other districts – South Salmara, Majuli, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Udalguri, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao and Charaideo – the curfew will be from 5 pm and 5 pm i.e. these districts will remain open from 5 am to 5 pm.

In the rest of the districts also, shops and other business establishments will remain open up to '12 noon' and the curfew will start from 1 pm.

Works in tea gardens will continue with strict adherence to the COVID-19 protocol and the social distancing norm. If the COVID-19 protocol is violated, the heads of the gardens will be held responsible.

The inter-district movement of people is also banned till further order.

All religious and educational institutions will remain closed till further order.

While people who have taken both doses of vaccines can go to government offices, pregnant women and women with children below five years of age will have to work from homes, both in the government and the private sectors.
