Assam Government Shuffles Bureaucrats

GUWAHATI: The State Government has gone for a bureaucratic reshuffle of its civil administration, including deputy commissioners. It even changed a few departments allotted to Additional Chief Secretary Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani.

The Department of Personnel issued a notification to this effect today after approval from the Chief Minister.

According to the notification, the government transferred and posted Secretary to the Chief Minister Khanindra Choudhury as Goalpara Deputy Commissioner; Barpeta Deputy Commissioner Tej Prasad Bhusal as Additional Secretary to the Home & Political Department; Goalpara Deputy Commissioner Meenakshi Das Nath as Director, Cultural Affairs and Director of Dr Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute as an additional charge.

The government also transferred and posted Cachar Deputy Commissioner J Keerthi as Kamrup Deputy Commissioner and CEO of Guwahati Biotech Park and CEO of Assam Biotechnology Council; Kamrup Deputy Commissioner Kailash Karthik N as Additional Secretary to the Government of Assam, Public Health Engineering Department and MD, Swacch Bharat Mission (Gramin), Director, Neer Nirmal Pariyojana & MD, Jal Jeevan Mission, Assam as additional charges; Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Rohan Kumar Jha as Cachar Deputy Commissioner; Nagaon Deputy Commissioner Hivare Nisarg Gautam as Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner; Revenue & DM Department Joint Secretary P Vijaya Bliaskar Reddy as Chirang Deputy Commissioner and Secretary of Bodoland Territorial Region; Baksa Deputy Commissioner Aayush Garg as Barpeta Deputy Commissioner; Chirang Deputy Commissioner Narendra Kumar Shah as Nagaon Deputy Commissioner; Gossaigaon ADC in-charge Masanda Magdalin Pertin as Baksa Deputy Commissioner and Secretary to the Bodoland Territorial Region; and South Salmara Mankachar ADC Laxmi Kutum will officiate as in-charge Deputy Commission of South Salmara Mankachar till the return of Pallavi Sarkar from leave.

The same notification also brought changes in the departments of some bureaucrats. It gave the additional charge of Chairman, ARIAS Society to Additional Chief Secretary to Agriculture Dr Ashish Kumar Bhutani. He will continue to hold the posts of Agriculture Production Commissioner, Assam & Chairman, State Level Recruitment Commission for class-III Posts.

Commissioner & Secretary to PHE Department Akash Deep got posted as Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Environment and Forest Department.

Commissioner & Secretary to Agriculture and Environment & Forest Departments Dr Om Prakash got transferred and posted as Mission Director, SSA Mission, Assam.

The notification transferred and posted SSA Mission, Assam Mission Director Roshni Aparanji Korati as Secretary to the Agriculture Department and State Project Director, ARIAS Society, as an additional charge.

The notification transferred and posted Director of Cultural Affairs, Assam Dr Debajit Khanikar as Joint Secretary to the Department of Tourism.
