Buddha's Birthday: Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi Extend Greetings on Buddha Purnima
GUWAHATI: Assam Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi wished the people of the State, particularly those belonging to the Buddhist Community on the occasion of Buddha Purnima (Gautam Buddha's Birthday).
In a message, Prof. Mukhi said, "I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Assam on the auspicious occasion of Buddha Jayanti. Let this day be an occasion of taking a resolve of following and spreading the messages and preaching of Lord Gautam Buddha".
Governor Prof. Mukhi also appealed to the people to spread the doctrines of Gautam Buddha and work for strengthening the society based on the teachings of Buddha. In view of COVID pandemic, the Governor also urged upon all to avoid community worship and be in their homes and pray for a healthy tomorrow.
