Assam: HS 1st Year exams to be conducted after Bohag Bihu

Guwahati: The remaining examinations of HS First Year, 2025, will be preferably conducted after the commencement of HS 2nd Year classes, which are generally held after the Bohag Bihu holidays. The suitable dates in this regard will be notified in due course of time, according to the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).

This was stated in the latest notification issued by the ASSEB post the board meeting held on March 24 regarding the leakage of question papers of HS 1st Year. The examinations to be held between March 24 and 29 were postponed/rescheduled. In the meeting, the rescheduling of the postponed exams came up for discussion, along with the matter relating to the commencement of HS 2nd Year classes.

Analysing the dates on which the HS 1st year exams concluded in the past three years and the first date of issue of E-marksheets, the board concluded that the exams ended earliest by May 2, with subsequent issuing of E-marksheets. Regarding the commencement of HS 2nd year classes, it was observed by the ASSEB that they generally commence after the Bohag Bihu holidays every year.

In light of the discussions, the board decided that the classes of HS 2nd Year are proposed to commence just after the Bohag Bihu holidays for the academic session 2025-26, like in previous years; the board will arrange the schedule of remaining examinations of HS first year 2025 in such a manner that interested students can download their E-marksheets from June 15, 2025, provided that individual institutions evaluate the answer scripts and upload the marks before June 15, 2025; and that the remaining examinations of HS First Year, 2025, will be preferably conducted after the commencement of HS 2nd Year classes. The suitable dates in this regard will be notified in due course of time.
