GUWAHATI: After floods, landslides, and erosion, Assam is sweltering under scorching heat. The maximum temperatures in all major cities and towns in the state were above normal today. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Guwahati, of the IMD, the maximum temperature in Guwahati was 37.3 degrees Celsius, which is 4.8 degrees Celsius more than normal today.

The maximum temperature in Dibrugarh was 37.7 degrees Celsius (6.2 degrees Celsius above normal), 37 degrees Celsius in Silchar (5 degrees Celsius above normal), and 38 degrees Celsius in North Lakhimpur (6.2 degrees Celsius above normal).

According to RMC’s temperature forecast, the minimum temperature is very likely to be appreciably above normal (3 degrees Celsius to 5 degrees Celsius more than normal) over Assam during the next two to three days.
