GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that from Wednesday shops and other business establishments would remain open up to 3 pm, and the curfew will start from 4 pm in the districts other than the seven districts – Goalpara, Lakhimpur, Golaghat, Jorhat, Sonitpur, Biswanath and Morigaon. These seven districts are total containment zones now. He said that in Kamrup (M) the shops and other business establishments would continue to remain open up to 4 pm, and curfew would start from 5 pm. He said that if the daily new COVID positive cases in Kamrup (M) exceed 250, Government will have to rethink alternative measures. "In other districts, if new daily positive cases exceed 100, the Government will have to reconsider alternative measures there. The detection of new positive cases continues to worry us," he said.
