GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 'peace, coordination and development' are the very essence of the achievements of the present government in the state in the past four years.

On his completion of four years as the Chief Minister of the state, he said, "The nine-year-long (four years of this government and five years of the Sonowal government) non-Congress government in the state is a rare incident in the political history of Assam. This trinity - peace, coordination and development - is intertwined and interdependent; it works as a catalyst in the development of the state."

The Chief Minister said, "The peaceful situation in the state is a virtue achieved after so many years. The peace that prevails in the state now was beyond our imagination in the past. The cooperation among various ethnic groups and communities in the state fetched peace, and it's peace that paved the way for development. Assam is an emerging state etched on the 'development map' of the country. Now Assam is going to be a million economic state."

The Chief Minister showered gratitude on the Prime Minister for his stay in the Kaziranga National Park, boosting its importance as a tourist spot; the UNESCO Heritage tag for Charaideo Maidam; the declaration of Assamese as a classical language; and his support for the record-breaking Bihu and Jhumur dances, etc.

The Chief Minister said, "The Prime Minister helped Assam in industrial development to a large extent. It's because of the Prime Minister that the Tata Semiconductor plant and the new unit of the Namrup Fertiliser plant have become a reality. The state is going to have thermal power plants worth Rs 50,000 crore. The state will also get the approval of Rs 1 lakh crore from the Government of India for infrastructure development in the state."
