GUWAHATI: In view of the prevailing situation in Meghalaya, the Government of Assam, through Assam Police, has activated dedicated helpline numbers to facilitate assistance to people from Assam who may be stranded in Meghalaya or facing difficulties in movement.

According to a press release issued by Assam Police, family members, relatives and members of the public having information about individuals or vehicles stranded in Meghalaya can share the details through the designated helplines.

The authorities have requested people to provide information such as the name of the person, contact number, vehicle number, present location and any other relevant details that could assist in coordination and extending timely support.

The information received through the helplines will be taken up with the concerned authorities in Meghalaya, including the local administration and police, for necessary coordination and assistance.

The Assam Government and Assam Police are maintaining close coordination with the concerned authorities in Meghalaya and have assured all possible support to those requiring assistance.

The WhatsApp helpline number activated for the purpose is 9181014888, while the landline helpline number is 03612381511.

The public has been urged to remain calm and share only verified information to enable effective and timely coordination between the authorities.
