Assam Public Works (APW) Moves CBI Against Prateek Hajela, Files FIR

GUWAHATI: The Assam Public Works (APW) on Thursday filed an FIR with the CBI against former NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela and sought a high-level probe into the alleged “huge amount of corruption/misappropriation of government money by the then NRC State Coordinator Prateek Hajela with his close aids in updation of the NRC in Assam.”

The APW FIR signed by Rajib Deka (for APW) and addressed to ‘The Officer In charge, CBI, Office of the Head of Branch, Anti-Corruption Branch, Betkuchi, Gorchuk, Guwahati’ states, “It is a known fact that Government of India is spending the whole expenditure of the aforesaid process through the then NRC Coordinator Prateek Hajela and as per information an amount of Rs.1600 crore approximately has already been released by the Government of India”, stated an APW release.

Alleging that “a large number of illegalities, financial irregularities has been committed in making different expenditure”, the organization sought a probe by the CBI into the “the whole process of utilisation of the aforesaid amount”.
