GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam, instructed all Inspectors of Schools (IS) to update the service books of all teaching and non-teaching staff of secondary schools due for retirement in December 2025, at the latest by November 30, 2023.
After updating service books, they should be uploaded on the Kritagyata portal for integration with the MIS system of the Department of School Education through the Shiksha Setu and U. Dise apps for fetching relevant details of retiring teaching and non-teaching staff of all schools under the Secondary Education Department.
The Directorate also informed the inspectors of schools that the correction of names in the service books should be done as per the Aadhaar card and PAN card of the teaching and non-teaching staff of secondary schools while updating their service books.
It was also mentioned that while updating service books, all the deficiencies related to service books should be met, and family details, current addresses, dates of birth, dates of joining, pay entry, service verification, dates of retirement, post-confirmation dates, excess drawals of money, records of leave, records of suspension or dismissal, Initial Fixation of Pay, ACPS and MACPS benefits, credits as per GPF and GIS statements, and cases related to Judicial Department proceedings should be updated.
The inspectors of schools were also directed to eliminate any discrepancies in pay fixation, rectify the date of birth, and bring to the notice of the authority in advance for timely finalization of pensions. Excessive withdrawal of pay and allowances and overstays in services were asked to be avoided. The inspectors were asked to check and rectify credits in GPF, subscription to GIS in the appropriate group, etc., in advance before finalising the pension.
Moreover, they were also told that all teaching and non-teaching staff of secondary schools should certify that their service books are correctly updated and uploaded to the Kritagyata Portal.
