BJP synonymous with socio-economic security, says CM Sonowal

BONGAIGAON/GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal has said that the BJP governments in the State and at the Centre are synonymous with socio-economic security to all.

The Chief Minister addressed election rallies in South Abhyapuri, Bongaigaon, Sarukhetri, Bhabanipur, Patacharkuchi, Dispur and West Guwahati on Saturday.

Addressing an election rally at South Abhyapuri in favour of BJP's alliance candidate Punendra Banikya, Sonowal said that the BJP-led government in the State taking the blessings of all sections of the people adopted a policy for the equal development of all districts of the State.

"Immediately after coming to power in 2014, the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, took a universal policy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Bikash and Sabka Biswas. It is because of his policy all the states of the country made impressive records in their respective development journey," he said.

"Even in Assam, the State government taking all sections of the people on board ruled the State for five years and gave pride and prestige to all sections of the people. The government took several schemes and programme without making any discrimination in the name of caste, community, creed and religion. Be it minority or majority all sections of the people secured dividends of the government schemes," the Chief Minister added.

Sonowal said that the Congress, AIUDF and Left parties are hellbent in terming the BJP a communal party. "However, during the regime of the BJP-led government, no clashes in the name of caste, creed, ethnicity and religion was reported from any part of the State", he said, and added that during the tenure of the present government, everybody was given equal opportunity and social and economic security. Therefore, all sections of the people of the State, embraced the government as their very own, Sonowal exhorted.

"As against the Congress government which fomented ethnic clashes, the BJP-led government encouraged harmony, peace and tranquility. As against the Congress government which ripped through the state in the name of ethnicity, the BJP government unified the people", Sonowal said, and added that under the BJP government everybody is safe and secured.

During his long speech at Bongaigaon, Sonowal said that giving scholarship to students, giving rightful vocations to unemployed youths, Arunodoi schemes and others are some of the schemes which brought about revolutionary changes in the lives of the people. He added that the Congress government did not take any step for development of Bongaigaon. For the development of Bongaigaon, the present BJP-led government set up several institutions. Engineering College, the Rs 3,500-crore Multi-Modal Logistics Park at Jogighopa, Rs 1,000-crore capacity enhancement for Bongaigaon Refinery are some of the steps that have influenced the growth of Bongaigaon district. In the near future, 20 lakh youths will get direct and indirect job opportunities in the Multi-Modal Logistics Park. Even the families of South Abhyapuri would be benefited from the park.

The Chief Minister also said that as long as the BJP government remains in power, all sections of the people of the state will feel secured.

Later, Sonowal addressed poll rallies in Sarukhetri, Bhabanipur, Patacharkuchi, Dispur and Gauhati East constituencies and urged the people to cast their votes in favour of the BJP and its alliance candidates.
