SHILLONG: A Nodal Officer-level meeting between the border guarding forces of India and Bangladesh was held at Tamabil in Bangladesh on Thursday.

While the six-member Indian delegation was led by led by BSF (Border Security Force) DIG U.K. Nayal, the five-member Bangladesh side was led by Lt. Col. Abdul Kader Md Ashraf Ali Mamun, of the BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) North-East Region Sarail.

The meeting discussed various border-related problems faced by the border guarding forces. The issues included cattle smuggling, drugs and narcotics, fake currency and other contraband items.

The construction of ICP Dawki also figured in the discussion. Both the sides agreed to jointly prevent trans-border crimes and pursue all pending development works to further strengthen the existing strong relations between the two countries, stated a release.
