BPF announces list of 8 more candidates for the third-phase of Assam Assembly election

The BPF (Bodoland People’s Front) has announced the names of eight more candidates for the third-phase election at the party office here on Tuesday.

KOKRAJHAR: The BPF (Bodoland People's Front) has announced the names of eight more candidates for the third-phase election at the party office here on Tuesday. BPF president Hagrama Mohilary declared the name of candidates in the evening. The announcement by BPF president Hagrama Mohilary came after the UPPL had announced its list earlier during the day.

The eight BPF candidates are: Pramila Rani Brahma (30-Kokrajhar East), Chandan Brahma (31-Sidli), Majen Narzary (28-Gossaigaon), Rabiram Narzary (29-Kokrajhar West), Kamalsingh Narzary (33-Bijni), Hitesh Basumatary (63-Chapaguri), Prabin Boro (62-Barama), and Ramdas Basumatary (58-Tamulpur).

Of the eight candidates, Prabin Boro and Ramdas Basumatary are new faces while Hitesh Basumatary, who was an MLA of the BPF later joined the UPPL.

Talking to media persons, BPF president Hagrama Mohilary said, "The slogan of the 'Mahajoot' or 'Grand Alliance' is 'BJP Hatao, Assam Bachao'. The 'Mahajoot' parties will fight together to defeat the BJP. We will form the next government in Assam."
