Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha snaps ties with Raijor Dal

GUWAHATI: In a blow to the Raijor Dal (RD), one of its constituent partners namely the 'Brihattar Asomiya Yuba Mancha' (BAYM) has withdrawn its support to the RD. This was made public by the BAYM secretary general Pranabjyoti Handique while addressing the media here on Monday.

Handique added, "The Raijor Dal was constituted with the support of 70 organizations. But now, the lookout of RD leaders has changed. They are just interested in holding the reins of power. So we have snapped our ties with the Raijor Dal. We have withdrawn our support to the party."

He further said, "The BAYM is not with any political party. We appeal to the electorates to cast their votes in support of only those candidates who are against the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and who would work in the greater interest of Assam and the Assamese people."
