Candidates who qualified for posts in 200 Additional FTs stage protest to seek appointment

GUWAHATI: Demanding immediate appointment, all the 1,600 candidates — who had cleared various examinations for different clerical posts in the 200 Additional Foreigners Tribunal (FT) — staged a protest on the Judges field here on Monday. After the protest, the candidates submitted a memorandum to the Registrar General of Gauhati High Court.

Following an advertisement for the vacant posts by the Assam government on June 13, 2019, around 2.5 lakh candidates appeared in the examinations conducted by the ‘State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam’ on August 11, 2019. The posts were for UDA, LDA, and data entry operators among others. Altogether 1,600 candidates were selected as per the results declared on September 19, 2019.
