Centre Clears ₹1,066.80 Cr Flood Aid; Assam Gets ₹375 Cr Under SDRF

Centre releases ₹1,066.80 crore for flood-hit states; Assam gets ₹375.60 crore from SDRF for relief and response efforts.

Guwahati: In a major sigh of relief to the states that were affected by floods and landslides, the central government has approved the release of Rs. 1,066.80 crore to the states of Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Kerala, and Uttarakhand. Assam received Rs. 375.60 crore as its central share from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).

 As for the other NE states, Manipur received Rs. 29.20 crore, Meghalaya Rs. 30.40 crore, and Mizoram received Rs. 22.80 crore from the SDRF. Moreover, Rs. 153.20 crore went to Kerala and Rs. 455.60 crore to Uttarakhand as central share of SDRF. These states have been affected due to extremely heavy rainfall, floods, and landslides during the southwest monsoon of this year.

The Central Government stressed its commitment to provide all possible assistance to the states affected by floods, landslides, and cloudbursts, stating that the Modi government stands resolutely beside the states in all situations.

It was also informed that this year, the Centre has already released Rs. 6,166.00 crore from SDRF to 14 states and Rs. 1,988.91 crore from NDRF to 12 states. In addition, Rs. 726.20 crore released from the State Disaster Mitigation Fund (SDMF) to 5 states and Rs. 17.55 crore from the National Disaster Mitigation Fund (NDMF) have also been released to 2 states.

The central government also stated that it provided all logistic assistance, including deployment of requisite NDRF teams, Army teams, and Air Force support to all the states affected by floods, landslides, and cloudbursts.
