Child abuse: Letter to Chief Justice by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today said that he had written a letter to the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court on Sunday to ensure that a special court disposes of the shocking child abuse case involving doctor couple Dr Sangeeta Datta and Dr Walliul Islam within six months.

Talking to media persons in Guwahati today, the Chief Minister said that he was monitoring the case and he had instructed the police to submit the chargesheet against the doctor couple within 45 days.

Dr Sangeeta Datta and Dr Walliul Islam were arrested by the Paltan Bazar police for allegedly abusing their ‘adopted’ children.
