GUWAHATI: Anupama Bhattacharya, the pioneering actress of the mobile theatre and cine artiste in the state breathed her last at the GMCH here today due to Covid-19.
She had a role in the famous play 'Siraj'. Sarapat, Nimila Anka. Morom, Rangdhali, Toramai, etc., are some of the Assamese films she had roles in. Natraj, the first mobile theatre group of the state founded in 1963, was the first troupe she was associated with.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed grief over her demise. He condoled her passing away, calling it an irreparable loss for the state's cultural world.
