CM Sarbananda Sonowal orders probe on Baghjan oil-well blowout
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced an inquiry into the oil-well blowout and the subsequent fire incident at Baghjan in Tinsukia.
GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday announced an inquiry into the oil-well blowout and the subsequent fire incident at Baghjan in Tinsukia. He entrusted the responsibility to conduct the probe on Additional Chief Secretary Maninder Singh and directed him to submit his report within 15 days.
The Chief Minister also directed Additional Principal Conservator of Forest (Wildlife) MK Yadava to conduct a study on the effects of the explosion incident on the environment and ecology in the surrounding areas. Yadava was directed to include, in his study, effects of the incident on the flora and fauna along with different species living in the water bodies of the area, stated a release.
