STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: The Gauhati High Court on Monday asked the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court, DimaHasao district to complete the trial in the murder case of constable Habibur Rahman within the next six months.

Hearing of this case at the CJM Court was stayed by the Gauhati High Court after the prime accused — Daniel Dimasa alias DebolalGorlosa challenged the status of the statement given by the approver MiputRajiyoung — a co-accused in the murder case. In 2018, Miput turned approver in the case and gave his statement.

Dismissing the plea of Debolal Gorlosa, the High Court's single-judge bench of Justice Rumi Kumari Phukan asked the Dima Hasao CJM Court to complete the trial of the murder case in the next six months.

DebolalGorlosa is currently the Chief Executive Member(CEM) of North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council (NCHAC).

The High Court has also asked the Miput Rajiyoung to apply for the approver status in the murder case within the next one month.
