GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today held a video conference with the Deputy Commissioners of all districts from his conference room at Janata Bhawan and discussed various issues and took a review of various schemes' implementation.

The Chief Minister discussed the targets set in the recent DCs' Conference in Diphu on August 22 and 23, which will be monitored closely. He stressed the need for constant monitoring to achieve development goals on time and instructed the DCs to implement the development schemes expeditiously in close coordination with the departments.

He also directed the DCs to intensify the Covid vaccination drive in the districts so that the maximum population can be covered. Complete vaccination is one of the keys to fighting the pandemic effectively in the future, he said.

Asking DCs to stay prepared for floods while taking steps to facilitate relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people at the earliest, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of effective preparatory measures for the floods so that damage can be minimized, a press release said.
