COVID: Assam Health Department ready for hospitalization

STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI: Though there has been no hospitalization of any COVID patients in the latest wave in the state, the State Health Department is ready to hospitalize COVID patients if needed. State Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said this today. Speaking to the media here, Mahanta said, "Though COVID-19 has already become a cause of concern for a few states in the rest of India, Assam has nothing to worry about for the virus so far. We have started testing suspected cases in the state. Two or three cases have come to light in the state in the past few days. Though they tested positive, their symptoms were mild. We were always ready for COVID-19. After the latest directive issued by the Centre, we are ready to admit patients to the hospital at any time. The occurrence of the virus in other states has made us well prepared now."
