According to Minister of State for DoNER Dr Sukanta Majumdar, the total expenditure across all listed schemes for the Northeast demonstrates a robust financial commitment, with the highest total expenditure recorded in 2023-24 at Rs 1884.91 crore against a revised estimate of Rs 5789.4 crore. The 2024-25 figures project a total expenditure of Rs 3346.55 crore against a revised estimate of Rs 3896 crore, indicating continued investment in the region’s development.

The respective scheme-wise revised estimates (RE) and expenditures in the Northeast under NESIDS, according to the Union minister, are Rs 2,489.94 crore and Rs 1,040.25 crore in 2023-24 and Rs 1,500 crore and Rs 1,462.39 crore in 2024-25.

The special development packages for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), and Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC) also witnessed rising expenditure.
