Guidelines soon to reopen educational institutions in State: Himanta Biswa Sarma

GUWAHATI: Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that his department will come out with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the formal reopening of educational institutions across the State from November 1.

Talking to the media here on Tuesday, Sarma said that since the Durga Puja festival would be celebrated in the current month, the State Government has decided to reopen the schools, colleges and universities from November 1. He further said that the SOPs towards this end will be issued between October 15 and 20. The SOPs will reflect as to how the educational institutions will function by following all the COVID-safety protocols and guidelines. The Minister, however, said that the government may not allow hostels in colleges and universities to reopen
