Guwahati: Police Seize ₹32 Lakh Cash, Gutkha, Coupons from Night Bus

Guwahati: Khetri Police on Saturday morning seized a large amount of cash from a night super bus on the National Highway near Dhopguri in Khetri.

According to police, the money, being transported to Guwahati from Nazira, was packed in several bundles and hidden inside a sack. An amount of Rs 32 lakh in cash was being carried on the bus bearing registration number AR 16 A 8200 with no accompanying documents.

Along with the money, police also recovered a large quantity of gutkha products and numerous gift coupons meant for distribution to consumers.

Police informed that the Income Tax department has been notified of the seizure of the large amount of cash, and the department will examine the matter.
