An official at RMC told The Sentinel that rainfall distribution and intensity are likely to increase over Assam, Meghalaya and other NE States from July 18 due to favourable meteorological condition. He said widespread rainfall and isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall in Assam and Meghalaya from July 19 to 21. "Convergence of moist southerly/southwesterly winds from Bay of Bengal over North East is another reason for heavy rainfall," the official said.
