GUWAHATI: The High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examination 2022, to be conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), as well as the Higher Secondary (HS) final examination 2022, to be conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), will commence in the State from Tuesday.

As many as 4,31,132 candidates will appear in the HSLC/AHM examination. Of these, 4,19,887 candidates will appear in the HSLC examination and 11, 245 candidates will appear in the AHM examination. The examination will be conducted in 903 examination centres. The SEBA has already announced that the examination with 40 per cent reduced syllabus will be conducted with unused question papers and answer booklets printed for the examination of 2021, which could not be held due to the COVID-19 situation. The HSLC/AHM examination will end on March 31.

On the other hand, the Higher Secondary final examination will cover four streams - Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational course. A total of 2,15, 022 candidates will sit for the examination in 796 examination centres. Unlike the SEBA, the AHSEC will conduct the examination on the basis of full syllabi and new question papers and answer sheets. However, there will multiple-choice questions for the convenience of the examinees.

Moreover, the AHSEC has directed the examination centre authorities to provide question papers to the candidates 15 minutes before the examination commences. The Higher Secondary examination will end on April 12.

Meanwhile, the All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has extended its best wishes to all examinees of the both the examinations.
