GUWAHATI: Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the immigrant Muslims were working in Assam with a 'Legislative Assembly Constituency (LAC) domination' blueprint. "If we cannot check this design now, an uncertain future is inevitable for the state," he said.

The Chief Minister said this while reacting to the recent Gorukhuti incident in Sipajhar before the media today.

He further said, "The immigrant Muslims have long been invading LACs in Assam. They successfully implemented their blueprint by changing the demography in various Legislative Assembly Constituencies. With this design, they took Batadrava, Borkhetri and Mangaldai LACs to their grip. Their targets in the 2026 Assembly election are Sipajhar, Borsola and Lumding LACs. They have their eyes set on 'Assembly domination' by 2050.

"The immigrant Muslims are out to encroach upon lands, including forest lands, in Sipajhar, Borsola and Lumding. The government must act in such a situation.

"This government is not against Muslims. We are fighting to foil the design of the immigrant Muslims to implement their demographic blueprint. Their modus operandi is to flock to a particular LAC, encroach upon the land in a rampant way, change the demographic pattern and ensure LAC domination.

"Some indigenous Muslims complained that their immigrant counterparts don't even spare lands near Masjids, let alone lands belonging to temples, xatras, devalayas etc.

"We assured genuine landless of providing them six bighas of land in rural areas. This statement is in sync with the land policy of the state. The government will thoroughly verify the credentials of people applying for land – their identities, nationalities etc. Genuine landless will get six bighas of government lands."
