Child trafficking has been a growing crime punishable under Section 370 of IPC. The police force has been trying to check this menace, but without public support it cannot be tackled. If any such incident happens near you or if you want to know about child trafficking, you can seek help from the Childline having toll-free number 1098 or you can contact the SCPS (State Children Protection Society) office located at Beltola in Guwahati. Outside the city, each district has a Child Protection Unit, a Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).
