Initiate Stern Action Against Corrupt Persons: Siddhartha Bhattacharya To Officials

GUWAHATI: Reacting strongly to the reported issue of some candidates showing themselves as pursuing professional courses (B.Ed./D.EL Ed.) by submission of fake documents as reported in a section of newspapers, State Minister of Education Siddhartha Bhattacharya has directed the Department officers to take stern action against the corrupt individuals and officers involved. He further said that in case of detection of submission of such false documents/information by any candidate, his/her qualification in TET (even after awarding of TET certificate) will be considered null and void and necessary legal action will follow.

The Minister made these observations at a review meeting on Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2019 with top officials of the department here on Friday.

Among other issues, the matter regarding selection of zones by candidates was discussed in details. “A candidate selecting any of the notified zones during submission of on-line application for TET can apply for engagement as teacher after qualifying in TET in the districts of that zone only. He/she will not be engaged in districts of other zones. Further after engagement, he/she will not be transferred to districts of other zones; and the department will not entertain applications requesting transfer to any district of other zones,” stated a release.

Present during the meeting were the Additional Chief Secretary to the Government of Assam, Education Department; Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, Elementary and Secondary Education; Mission Director, Samagra Shiksha, Assam; Secretary, Education (Elementary) Department; Chairman, SEBA; and other officers of the Education Department, the release added.
